Why?

Borneo

The island of Borneo is 17 times bigger than the Netherlands with the same amount of people, a population of 16 million. Many villages are far from the roads and ‘civilization'. It is often very difficult for children to go to school, if there are any, and get education because of the distance and lack of resources.

Children in those area's often leave there homes to get education. Often children under the age of twelve have responsibilities to take care of younger brothers and sisters. Besides that they have to search for money and food for their meals and school fees. A lot of children experience abuse and neglection and/or suffer from malnutrition and diseases as TB, malaria and typhus.
